Words/Music – Rand Anderson

The monsoon is approaching, I can smell the desert rain

The sweet scent of sage and sand washing clean the earth again

Clap of thunder fill my ears as the clouds rise so tall

Webs off lighting fill the sky as the rain begins to fall

Just like that day, she ran away

Was it what I told her? Or what I didn’t say

Its look like the sunshine won’t be here to stay

But then I see the purple patches coming though the gray

Whenever I cant walk, she carries me to bed

Keeps my body warm and soothes my aching head

Ive known a lot of women and been all around this world

But Ill never find another one like my mountain girl

Looked since the day, she ran away

Was it what I told her? Or what I didn’t say

Its look like the sunshine won’t be here to stay

But then I see the purple patches coming though the gray

In each and every raindrop, I can see her face

You know Im heading northbound to her mountain hideout place

500 miles by sundown, keep rolling throughout the night

Gonna find my mountain girl and try to treat her right

Not like that day, she ran away

Was it what I told her? Or what I didn’t say

Its look like the sunshine won’t be here to stay

But then I see the purple patches coming though the gray
