Words/Music – Rand Anderson
She always seemed to be so happy
The way she bounced along her way
Yesterday she don’t need no one
and how she hurts inside today

She tried to be so funky and hop on the hip scene
Started dancing with the monkey and lost her self-esteem
All them people take from her the laughter she posseses
Not a soul to comfort her when she signals in distress

Now she wants to take the weekend
To clear her head from all that sound
Now it seems she’s in the deep end
and I don’t think she’s coming back to town

She’s swimming in a circle ’round some image in her head
Stranded in the halfway home, she crawls beneath the bed
She slides down a ladder through the floor of her dream
into her subconsciousness, where no one hears her scream

Save me, I’ve fallen in too deep
You can be my saviour, I will be your sheep
Stop me, from bouncing off the wall
My life’s become a tramp-o-lene, my mind a rubber ball

You know you could’ve been my queen girl,
but now your someone elses pawn
A fallen victim to that scene yeah
and the little girl, that I once knew, is gone

Another bag of hope to last throughout the day
Maybe it’s for free but someday soon you’ll pay
Another restless night you lay awake and cry
Dont you kind of wonder, don’t you wonder why? you say

Save me
